We won gold at the European Excellence Awards
Adverum triumphed at the prestigious European Excellence Awards 2024, winning first place in the diversity, equality, and inclusion communication category.
This October, in collaboration with the humanitarian marriage ceremony organizers „Taip“ kitaip“, wedding planner Laura Vagone, and the Lithuanian Human Rights Centre, we organized an unforgettable celebration—the wedding ceremony of Vitalius and Albinas. The project “52 Years of Love” reveals an extraordinary story about the power of love to overcome any challenges.
We contributed to the promotion and organization of this project on a pro bono basis, allowing this story to be heard throughout Lithuania.
“We are the only Baltic country without a legalized partnership law that allows same-sex couples to legally formalize their relationships. Vitalius and Albinas have been living together for 52 years, and their love has become a symbol encouraging the fight for the rights of all individuals. The ceremony, which gathered the most prominent representatives of the country’s culture, art, music, politics, and media, has become one of the most remarkable weddings of 2024, with Vitalius and Albinas’ marriage being witnessed by more than 20,000 people,” says Adverum’s executive director Aurelija Astrauskė.
The certificate of Vitalius and Albinas’ humanitarian marriage was entrusted to the Lithuanian National Museum for safekeeping as a significant exhibit reflecting the lives of the LGBT+ community. This life story and the marriage ceremony were also captured in a documentary film and on LRT radio’s documentary series.
This year, more than 700 participants competed for the title of Europe’s best in various categories at the European Excellence Awards.
